ME: In my 1970 built BB Vette., i get 13 mpg town and 14.5 highway. 4
speed M21.

I've got a 78 w/ L82 and the RPM sounds right; somewhere around 3200 at 60-
65 mph. I get about 12-13 mpg and nothing has ever changed that ... have
installed high performance plug wires, used split-fire plugs, K&N air
filter, higher voltage coil, etc., nothing. Have gotten up to 15 mpg on
long trips though. To make it worse I've got the smaller 13(?) gallon gas
tank.

Thanks to all who replied...yes I do have a 350 turbo hydramatic
automatic transmission...& I do get around 12 MPG. I was out cruising
with a few guys who have C5's. I guess really you can't compare the
mileage of my car to the latest technology. Looks like I either spend
a lot of bucks on upgrades or live with it!
