be evacuated in order to work on it, then that
certainly implies a sealed system!

that 'HMC' stood for, I responded without googling
anything. At that time, I guessed that the 'headmaster'
was used to expand the operating temperature, like
the TEV is. Turns out that I was right on target...
after I googled and found HPC literature, my second
post (before your response!) mentioned the optionality.

a two-port system without bypass... the valves were
