Default Weber Carb

Few weeks ago my e30 316 89 started playing up starting , was told by
a few people that was probably the carb (pierburg) was playing up ,
took it too a local garage and they confirmed that the auto choke had
gone and the best way was to replace it. I ordered the Weber carb from
europarts and dropped it off at the local garage who fitted it .

I picked the car up today and noticed a couple of things , of which
may be normal , may be not if anyone can help

Economy gauage is well off , probably normal as some connectors are
not connected to anything !!

Its rather noisy , now i know the carb would be noiser than the
pierburg one but this one is pretty noisey and seems that it is
spluttering a little

Also , seems to smoke a lot compared to what it used too

Think the first problem is normal , is the other two related to a
mixture setting ?????

Any help please

Cheers
Phill
