This car idles and runs great when there is cooler weather or it is
raining. When it is hot and dry it idles very bad. It ran great all
winter but during 80+ degrees and dry it has very unstable idle. Why
does it run good with cooler wet weather?

Bad ignition wires would be my first guess.

Jim,
Sounds like the opposite - bad wires usually short out when wet. Sounds
more like vapour lock in the fuel system - are all of the heat shields in
place around the injector hoses? Maybe check at www.humanspeakers.com/audi
to see if Huw has a solution.
Cheers!
