Got a mention on the front page of the local newspaper and a
really good article on the first page of the second section about our Second Annual Polar Bear Run. The article appears on the opening page of the paper's website too! The first Red Miata in the photo with the red flower on the antenna is my Belle. ;-) See www.mcall.com or our website at www.lvmoc.net for details. Still cold Iva & Belle.) I love the quote at the top of your club's site - it is a
perfect observation as the holidays end..... "Families are like fudge... mostly sweet, but with a few nuts." Actually, Mark is usually a pretty nice guy. Except when he's making us drive around topless in January. <g> Last year's event was in 56F degree weather so it was a LOT easier to take. Iva & Belle.) He may be like the building manager at work. One sunny August, he thought up the idea of testing the heating system for three days. It worked great the full three days. No problems whatsoever. One always wonders what ideas these people will come up with next. I don't think I ever did that in my 90 (maybe why the a/c stopped working late in life)... I just can't seem to find the nerve to run the a/c for a while in the winter. Granted now that I'm in las vegas and it's 65+ degrees it's more bearable than when I was in WI, NE, & MD in winters... -alex- |

I don't know the details, but I would assume they just run the cycle backwards, instead of it being a separate unit. The heater has hot coolant flowing through it all the time, and the "temperature" control just mixes hot and cold air to suit. With the A/C on, simply twist the temp knob a little higher. While I rarely use the A/C on my '94 to stay cool, I've run it for 5 minutes every couple of weeks year round since I bought the car in 1997, and it's never needed service. Same with my 1985 Accord, bought new. -- Lanny Chambers '94C, St. Louis http://www.hummingbirds.net/alignment.html |
