Default GM techs - rear end swap 2000 express van

I have a 2000 model express van, 2500 12 passenger model with 5.7 L gas V8.
It has the 3.73 rear end gear according to the VIN. I would like to see
about changing it to a higher ratio for better performance when towing.
Anybody know what ratios are available, what axle I have so that I can look
for a gear set, and if there is a way to change the speedo
drive/sensor/whatever to have the speedometer read correctly?

Thanks, Brian
