Good Chevy/GM products?
Let's say that hypothetically one were considering taking a job where
one would be doing a lot of driving, and one also received a company car with the deal. Said company is partial to Chevys. Are any of them any better than the rest? (yeah, I know about the Z06. I don't think that's on the list.) Priorities would be decent performance (yeah right), long distance seat comfort, and good headlights and/or headlights that can be switched for ECE spec units. Availability of manual transmixer would be a plus, but I doubt that will happen (Cobalt only I think?) nate -- replace "fly" with "com" to reply. http://home.comcast.net/~njnagel |

And that can be had with a manual tranny and can be modified with ECE spec headlamps? Don't think so. Nate, you hate DRL's too, if I remember correctly. Sounds like you're screwed! See if you can take a allowance instead and use that to get what you want. |

Well, the only GM product in north america that might be ok that I can think of would be the 'GTO' Although any decent headlamps for it would be for the other side of the road |

But I, I mean this hypothetical person, is sorely tempted to take this position as it's an "entry level" position in its field and it sounds like the offer would be more than this hypothetical person is making now. Probably will end up with an Impala (apparently the default car) if nobody has any better suggestions. Oh, and Brent, I don't see them going for a 2-door, but that might be worth a try. Too bad it's not a Ford company, I actually kind of liked the Lincoln LS (do they still sell that?) I was just wondering if there was anything I was missing in GM's lineup; I have to admit I've spent the past few years spending more time turning wrenches on, tracking down arcana about and occasionally driving 50 year old orphan makes than I have keeping up with my reading on new GM products. Sadly, the former is much more entertaining. So much for my cherished habit of driving old, interesting beaters every day... nate -- replace "fly" with "com" to reply. http://home.comcast.net/~njnagel |

If you want a manual tranny Chevy, your options are Aveo, Cavalier,
Cobalt, Corvette, SSR. |

I'm a car snob. My DD is a Porsche 944. *any* GM product (except maybe a C6 and we know what the odds are of that happening) is going to feel like ass by comparison, I'm just trying to minimize that factor nate |
