It's a great looking car but the nose looks unfinished. The seam is accented
by cutting into the headlights and the beams might be blocked a little on the low end. I can't imagine the interior being released this way either - heard somewhere that this kind of steering wheel is now illegal in the States. -- Z~ .. I'm having serious problems with the rear-end, too arced, too smooth. Maybe painted looks better..... As for illegal, the rumour is that the Ford GT won't be manufactured for '07 because it no longer meets Fed Standards. Anyone know more? SW -- When you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

There never was any intention to produce the thing. The idea was to do an design exercise that updated the original Cobra Daytona Coupe. As for Shelby dreaming in curves, maybe, but Caroll Shelby didn't design *any* of the Cobras. The original Cobra body design was done by A/C cars in England. The Daytona Coupe was done by Peter Brock. The other "Cobras" were all Mustangs with varying levels of added parts and paint. This show car was done by the Ford design people. One of the TV channels (Discovery) did an hour long show on the thing showing how it was done from drawings to the show debut. Carol Shelby never even saw this thing until it was nearly finished. Here's the story from Ford (2005) http://media.ford.com/newsroom/featu...?release=19670 //\ |
